The Irony of the Banning of the “ObaMao” T-shirt

China recently banned the “ObaMao” T-shirt in fear it may offend President Obama on his recent trip to China, during which he ironically advocates against the banning of information. This is overall pretty ironic, since “ObaMao” is actually a pro-Obama T-shirt among the young Chinese, though the communist Chinese government finds the communist reference may be offensive. Meanwhile, the “teabag crowd” in the U.S. finds it perfectly fine to openly offend their own president by wearing the T-shirt to literally compare Obama to a ruthless dictator. [via Gawker]
