I watched the Oscars last night, and I hate to say it but I was thoroughly unimpressed. According to a study by the LA Times, the average age of the Academy voter is 62—and it showed. What would an Oscar awards show be like if, say, Tina and Amy co-hosted (instead of “Billy Crystals,” as Sacha Baron Cohen’s the Dictator calls him)? Or, perhaps even more bizarrely, Harold and Kumar? That would be crazy.

My two main passions are puns and Asian Americans. So, nothing made me happier than to see these two married in this recent sketch from “Saturday Night Live” about Jeremy Lin’s fame and double standards when it comes to Asian American stereotyping versus black stereotyping. You want to watch. You do. You’ll be Lin-capable of breathing. Now the only thing missing from this video is an actual Asian. Get on that, SNL.

I read this article today about a Laguna Beach doctor who is close to finalizing a laser surgery that could permanently change brown eye color to blue. The laser is tuned to remove pigment from the surface of the iris, which reveals blue underneath.
