It’s only about a month until the Sept. 30 launch of MAC’s fall line: Venomous Villains. Start planning your escape route now because MAC stores all across the nation will be packed with women scrambling to get their hands on the cutest MAC packaging since the Hello Kitty line.
This collection, inspired by the evil villains of beloved Disney classics, features four of the hottest, most cunning, and wholly cold-hearted ladies (and one gentlemen) to ever grace the movie screen. From the infamous Evil Queen (Snow White) and Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty) …

Wet n Wild is one of those secret gems that everyone forgets about once they see the sparkling displays of Sephora and Mac. And while they do fall short on some products (there is just no way a $3 mascara could work, in any world), they also have produced some great products as well. I have always been a fan of their eyeshadows, but Wet n Wild recently revamped their entire line of powder eyeshadows and of course I had to snatch one up to check it out.
The new Color …

Summer months, for me at least, means more finicky skin and fewer ways to fix it. But luckily, summer also means a little bit more time to play around with some fun DIY at-home skincare masks. In addition to our previous natural facial mask suggestions, which include creating masks from yogurt, cucumber, green tea, tomato or banana, try these restorative facial masks that will help you stay fresh and moisturized throughout the summer heat.

Miracle lash growth serums are being touted all over the beauty market from $5 to $200 a tube. All of those options can be overwhelming, so here is a quick overview of some of the available lash growth serums out there, organized by price.
Revitalash: One of the most popular higher-end eyelash conditioners, Revitalash ranges from $60 to $100 a tube on the internet, depending on which site you buy it from. It does get pricey—the website sells a three month supply for $100. Reviews of the product are split between those …

From causing temporary breakouts to long-term cancer, the rumored damaging effects of makeup plague the typical beauty buff. To be honest, sometimes we can’t trust the popular “green” brands or the claims of being healthy and all-natural. Enter Skin Deep, an online cosmetics database brought to you by researchers at the Environmental Working Group that grades beauty products on a scale of zero (harmless) to ten (extremely dangerous) based on the threat they pose to human health. Skin Deep covers cosmetic products from lipsticks and mascaras to household items …

A recent article in The New York Times examines the popularity of using colored contacts and the possible health risks involved with wearing them. With the bright doe-eyed makeup look becoming widespread these days, colored contacts have become more than just a beauty fad. For many, it’s become a form of expression, akin to a fashion statement.
Using colored contacts is particularly popular among Asians, as YouTube makeup artists like Michelle Phan and Holly Ann-AeRee often film their makeup tutorials using colored contacts. And, we’re not just talking about turning brown …

Black eyeliner is a staple in any make-up bag, but it’s not a beauty product I use occasionally. For me, there are too many ways for black to go wrong in eyeshadow as well as eyeliner. It can be great as a compliment to other colors, but I suggest trying these alternatives for black eye makeup that are far more flattering and suitable for Asian eye and skin coloring.
Problem #1: Too Harsh
Solution: Dark purple or navy blue
With fair Asian skin, black eyeliner can be unnaturally dark and can even make …

On July 1, the 10 percent tanning tax was officially put into action. Snooki of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” has already expressed her dislike of the new regulations, saying “I don’t go tanning anymore because Obama put a 10 percent tax on tanning. He did that because of us. McCain would never put a 10 percent tax on tanning. Because he’s pale and he’d probably want to be tan.” She may not go tanning anymore, but there’s a bit more to the tax than just “no tanning.”
Here’s a cheat sheet to …

We hear a lot about how the sun’s rays can damage your skin, but most of us don’t realize it harms our hair, too. Ultra-violet (UV) rays are so powerful that they can burn through hair cuticles, making strands more brittle and dry. They can also mess with your natural hair color. This summer, protect your gorgeous tresses with hair products that contain SPF and have sun-protective filters.
Aveda’s Sun Care Protective Hair Veil ($26) is a lightweight, water-resistant UV defense mist that helps protect your hair from color damage and …

Now that it’s officially summer, it’s high-time to revamp your wardrobe—just don’t forget the bathroom counter as well. Here are a few tips to stay fresh on hot summer days.
1) Get rid of oil-based products. As the days get warmer, your skin will naturally produce more oil. Oil from your skincare products will not be absorbed as easily and will just sit on top of your skin and look shiny. You don’t necessarily have to go oil-free (that may be too harsh for more sensitive or dry skin) but look …
