We love Harry. Not Potter (although him, too), but Harry Shum, Jr. How can we not? He’s “ab-ulous” (to quote “Glee”). And boy can dance. So, we were thrilled when we heard “Glee’s” co-creator Brad Falchuk report at ComicCon that Shum will up his appearances in the next season.

I love Kal Penn—he’s funny, smart and by God, he’s Indian. How many Indian Americans (what’s the politically correct term here?) do you see in pop culture today? Padma Lakshmi, anyone from “Slumdog Millionaire,” Kal Penn, [silence]. Nothing jumps immediately to mind. This just in—South Korea finished second to win the spot for the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics, but lo and behold, it’s ON for the winter of 2018. The Winter Olympics have only been held in Asia twice before in Japan.
South Korea campaigned around a proposal to “expand winter sports in the lucrative Asian market,” and it offered a huge budget of $1.5 billion for the games and up to $6 billion additionally for structural changes.
2018’s far off, but we’ll be watching!

In early June, the Chinese American rapping trio Model Minority released a song for their newest mixtape, “The Tiger Sons.” Model Minority is made up of veteran emcees Jason “Grandmaster” Chu, Andrew “Inglish” Chu, and David “D-One” Fung. They say “The Tiger Sons” tape was developed “in the hopes of continuing to use music to educate our listeners and friends about the struggles and victories of Asians in America.”
