Now that New York Fashion Week is finally over, we can look back and reflect on some of our favorite beauty looks. From the tousled braids seen at Rachel Zoe to the iridescent eyes spotted at Jason Wu, these trends will keep us inspired until the February shows come around. We’re eager to recreate these styles and wear them into the spring:
Glittery eyes: Glitter doesn’t always look elegant, but the eyes at Jason Wu’s show were breathtakingly gorgeous. The combination of brown shadow and gold glitter brought all the focus to the eyes. Love!
Braided updo: The braided updos at Nicole Miller were romantic but slightly grungy. The intricate hairstyles, filled with volume and texture, were delightfully enchanting—while the wispy flyaways keep them from looking too fussy.
Bright pops: The color palette at Prabal Gurung stunned. Orange-red lipstick really popped against the rest of the face, which was kept minimal. Electric blue nail polish added an extra zing to this bold beauty look.
Textured braid: At Rachel Zoe, the models walked the runway with volumized braids. But these weren’t your ordinary French braids—the braiding was detailed but deliberately messy, with pieces of hair framing the face.
Graphic Liner: Eyes were the focus at Rodarte, where thick black eyeliner traced the upper eye and the outer half of the bottom. With a slight flick at the corner, where the two crisp lines met, the eyeliner looked slightly angular.
Floral updo: Voluminous one-inch curls were pinned to the top of the head to create the chicly disheveled hairdo at Zac Posen. Delicate flowers added a touch of femininity to this perfectly imperfect look.
DIANE VON FURSTENBERG
Bare-faced beauty: The makeup at DVF was refreshingly minimal. Subtle lash-line definition and a barely-there shadow complemented the naturally radiant faces for a soft, understated look.
HOLMES AND YANG
Slanted French: The classic French manicure was reimagined at Holmes and Yang. The base color was a conventional sheer pinkish nude but the slanted navy blue tips really blew us away.
Voluminous top knot: No ballerina buns here! Hair was kept out of the way at Kate Spade, where models sported roughed-up top knots. The top knots were purposely tousled, creating a stylish but effortless look.
Half-Moon Manicure: Half-moon manicures aren’t exactly new, but we’re loving the color combo spotted at Milly. The colors were so simple—a basic nude and a clean white—yet looked so striking against each other.
