Next up at New York Fashion Week, we arrived at the main tent for the Monarchy show.
It was quite a star-studded affair at Monarchy, as the front row included the “world’s first supermodel” Janice Dickinson, actress Jennifer Love Hewitt, America’s Next Top Model’s J. Alexander, Twilight star Kellan Lutz and 90210‘s AnnaLynne McCord.
The show was fast-paced and showed wearable looks on a very multicultural model line up. The most eminent color shown was a cool, steel blue, which looked great in silky fabrics, as well as more textured matte fabrics.
We loved the spectrum of neutral tones, which appeared in abundance. The shorts with the fabric belts tied into a bow at the front were a definite highlight and a trend to look out for in stores.
Designer Eric Kim was born and raised in Los Angeles and has had a lucrative career, where he was a design assistant at Rampage, the head of the design team at Pure Garden, and the CEO for American retail chain, Interstate. However, after meeting his business partner, Henry Kim, they formed Monarchy Collection, which has become a brand that represents America in the edgier European market.
